She Who Creates

Isn't this a wonderful plaque by Joan Tucker of Off Center Productions. I could make this into a necklace or hang it by my computer to reinforce "She Who Creates" needs to get busy. Than there is this wonderful ceramic cabochon face. It will be come a part of a bead embroidered bracelet. When I need to be inspired I just have to look at that this gorgeous necklace humblebeads made for her mom. I love Heather's jewelry and really miss being so far away from all of my kids. When I have to go do something I wear a piece of my jewelry created by Heather. I never feel alone. I don't tell her enough how proud I am of her accomplishments. The name she has made for her self. A big thrill for me is when I see something else someone had created using a humblebead. Stop by the humblebeads bead shop for beads and inspiration. Looking for a one of kind or limited edition beads stop by her esty shop. Thanks for stopping by and letting my share my favorites and treasures with you.

Charmed by a Water Meter

These copper charms are a replica of the New Orleans water meter covers you will find still in use today around New Orleans. The original water meter box cover was created by the Ford Meter Box Company. Here is my little spin on a pair of copper water meter box cover earrings. I dressed them up with 8mm copper crystals. Try as I might I can't seem to catch up with the things I needed to get done this week. My thoughts have been with my family. My Aunt Marie is recovering from surgery tonight after 12 long hours in the operating room removing cancer from her jaw bone and reconstruction. I am so thankful to God that he has gotten her through today. The days ahead will not be easy for her. She will be surrounded by family during her recovery supporting her with love and care. My good news this week is baby Dane came home from the hospital. I have new pictures to put up tomorrow. It 's time for me to call it night again. I have an early morning appointment I can't be late for.

Cricket's New Bear

I went to PetSmart this afternoon and came home with a Christmas Bear. You gotta love a puppy that will pose for pictures with a sit and stay command. I would love him even if he didn't!! I bet Cricket would look really cool beaded by "The Lone Beader". Check out the Airedale Terrier and Dalmatian Bead Art pins in her etsy shop. That's it for me. I am going to call it a night. I leave you with some links of my favorite Cricket pictures. Sitting by a Window. Hiding behind the shower curtain. Showing off his new toy from Auntie Rosanne. Making friends with Dona Anderson.

Dragonfly Melodey

It was a busy day in my beadroom. I got up this morning and wanted to bead. I am working on the necklace strap for the Dragonfly Melody which won't take long. It appears I have made a few resolutions for 2009 without purposely meaning too. I started a note book with things I need to get done by the end of the week. I am shifting gears and going into instructional mode with two sets of instructions I need to complete in the next couple of weeks. I am really looking forward teaching this year. The hardest thing I am giving up for 2009 is going to bed before 2:00 am. Midnight is my magic hour and it is here. Time to shut the machine down and call it a night. Thanks for stopping by. A Busy Weekend

It was a busy weekend. Our friend Aleta and Greg got married Saturday. The event was hosted at Aleta's parent's house. The ceremony was beautiful. I heard it was good luck to have rain on your wedding day. It must be true. I am wishing the happy couple many years of happiness together. My girlfriends. All dressed up and we wore our favorite beadwork. Left to Right: Sally, Carol, Iris and Me (Bev) It has been well over 4 weeks since I have touched my beads at home. This is the second bracelet I have made in this this color scheme. Black fire polish crystals and one cut bronze iris seed beads. The color combination is so rich and elegant. My sister Susie has the first one. Amiee made this one with these colors and I made another one yesterday. I made earrings to match. Notice the difference in the colors. Both are made with the same color of beads. One is a scan (earrings) and the other is take with my camera (bracelet). I stayed up way to late beading but it was so much. Thanks for stopping by. Instructions for making the flat spiral bracelet can found at Auntie's Beads.

Starting Out the New Year

We started out the New Year with a new baby in our the family. Dane Anthony Virgo was born on New Years Eve. He had a little trouble getting here. Weighing in at 8 lbs and 6 ozs and 21 inches in length. He will be spending the next 48 hours in ICU. Things are looking good. A prayer for Jaimee and Dane would be welcome. Congratulations Jaimee and Chris!! I am proud new Auntie. Dane is a feisty little boy. Sticking his tongue out and pulling off the feedlines to the monitors. He looks like a Jensen and his Dad with his square little jaw line. I hope to be able to visit him for the first time in the spring.
