What No Beads?

Decorative Crochet Issue #7 1989 Before I discovered beads my passion was crocheting with fine cotton. The pineapple pattern in a dollie was my favorite design. I have pulled out my favorite magazine to crochet this dollie for my daughter who was married on July 19th of this year. This is my progress so far. Is this a 19 year cycle? The magazine is 19 years old, my daughter was married on the 19th and I just had my 19th wedding anivarsary.

Good to have you back at home. Hope you have your "good eyesight" on for crocheting that fine stuff. Have you seen the pineapples done with beads? Sure adds that little bit of Umphhh to a doily.

I'm so glad to see you crocheting again. I have always loved the work you do, and I have lots of them to prove it. My favorite was always the hummingbirds! Amiee is gonna be thrilled.

That is one of my favorite things to do, too, Bev. Made all the girls heirloom pillowcase edgings two Christmasses ago and the pineapple design got a true workout.

Your daughter will love this . . .

Beautiful. I would love to learn how to crochet:) Have you seen the bead version of pineapple stitch? It was in Bead & Button about a year or two ago, I think.

I used to live for crocheting doilies. I started when I was a pre-teen in Germany (where they still taught "handwork"). I've been so consumed by beadweaving the past few years that I've neglected my hooks completely. sigh ;)

Hope all is well, Bev...
