I have been sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for Beads 2007 to hit the newsstands. Humblebeads is one of the editor's picks. I have had the pleasure of watching my daughter Heather Powers grow as an Artist. With that comes the honor of seeing new projects and beads getting ready for public consumption. Knowing how full Heather's life is, I often wonder how she fits it all in, raising a family, running a business, planning beadcruises and coordinating events. Heather is a freelance children's book illustrator, SCBWI regional advisor and bead artist by day. On top of all that we have added one more thing to the mix. "Bead Week". Our goal is to have people all over the world celebrate the beading arts during the week of May 20th through the 26th. We hope you join us in this endeavour. You can stop by the Beadweek website for ideas on how to celebrate, plan an event and have it listed on the local event's page. Let's renew our bead spirit. Please pass this message on and let your friends know it is time for a bead party. Bring out the chocolate and beads!
